Teaching at Capitol Hill English School
We are always interested in adding new tutors to our program. Basic requirements include a comfortable fluency in English, interest in working with newly-arrived immigrants and refugees, and an ability work both independently and as a member of the teaching staff.
Our average class ratio of students to teachers is 8:1. This allows us to give individual attention to address each learner's concerns. At Capitol Hill English School, we have a dedicated core of teachers, some of whom have been with our program since it began in 1981, so new tutors have plenty of help available to get them started.
We boast a diverse population of students from over twelve nations throughout South America, Southeast Asia, and East Africa. Teachers often remark on the incredible amount that they learn just by interacting with our incredible students, who have brought amazing stories and experience with them to the US.
If you are at all interested, or would even just like to visit a class to see what it's like, contact the SeAM office at (651) 293-1261 or at seam-stpaul@hotmail.com. We are always in need of tutors and would love to talk to you about it.
